Culture and creativity
The residents of Morecambe in the north-west of England are working hard to change perceptions of their hometown – both from people who live there, who feel it’s been forgotten about, and visitors who say its best days as a busy seaside resort are gone. With funding from Big Local, a partnership of people are taking over empty buildings, running festivals and welcoming visitors and locals alike to participate in a new vision of Morecambe as a place of art, entrepreneurship and innovation. This is their story.
