A research paper exploring how the Big Local programme creates new decision-making spaces.
This briefing is part of our Local Trust research papers series, originally shared internally with staff. It identifies how the Big Local programme creates decision-making spaces in the areas that it funds, and the extent to which these spaces give communities more power and ability to influence local agencies.
The paper sets Big Local in the context of other community decision-making initiatives. A version of this paper was presented in 2018 for the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) research conference.
It was published on the Local Trust website in April 2022.
