Community Engagement – The START Approach

So many people feel that the heart of their community is not what it used to be, and it’s left to the ‘faithful few’ to do everything.  If only local people got involved more and helped each other like they used to… others know that their community is full of great people with so much to offer, if only they could find a way to get them involved.  That is where START comes in and provides you with a practical and lasting way of making sure everyone in your community has the opportunity to be involved and to know and show that they are both a valued and valuable part of your community.

Join us to START – The Heart of Your Community , a half day interactive training exploring the START approach of energising work in your community. START works at discovering and rediscovering the Skills, Talents, Abilities, Resources and Time that you already have as a community, and then connecting people so we can use what we’ve got to make our community the very best it can be for everyone who lives and works here.

During this training you will learn the START approach based on experience of how it has been developed and successfully used in other communities. You will have the opportunity to design and test a START approach suited to your context and your area.
