Climate support action with Our Sale West

Our climate support partners, the Centre for Sustainable Energy, will be running a climate focused residential in Sale West in November.

This 2-day event will be an opportunity for you to re-energise your climate focused activities and better understand the impacts of climate change and the energy crisis. You’ll have plenty of time to network with other Big Locals and share ideas, expertise, and create strong connections between each other to help support your ongoing work.

• Day 1 we’ll be discussing what climate resilience in communities looks like and we will be having a tour of a local initiative ‘Friends of Carrington Moss’, whose volunteers are campaigning to ensure that local habitats are protected from proposed new developments.
• Day 2 will be focused on community responses to the energy crisis and fuel poverty. We’ll aim to build confidence in you and your Big Local area, so that you’re able to respond to these challenges. We’ll help you to develop plans to take back into your communities and ensure that you can make connections with your Big local peers who are working on similar projects.

You’ll also learn about Our Sale West’s projects including their recent ‘Youth Climate Crisis conference’ and you’ll get to hear from and meet students from a local school who are campaigning to protect their neighboring habitat, Carrington Moss. We hope that you will leave the two days feeling inspired and confident to bring climate action to your communities.

Local Trust are able to support areas to attend this two-day event, as long as you are already supported by CSE or have an interest in developing climate action in your Big Local area.

Thursday 17th November 12:00 -5:30pm – We will arrange a meal together for everyone who would like to carry on the conversation, please confirm if you can attend.
