As partnerships approach the end of their Big Local funding, many are looking at financial sustainability for their legacy plans. This could be through identifying sources of funding or income, or by increasing skills and knowledge in fundraising, bid writing or in securing commissions to deliver services.

Other areas may be looking for matched funding to deliver a key project as part of their Big Local plan.

What support is on offer?

As a Big Local partnership, you can access bespoke support from our fundraising partners to get help with things like:

  • access information on and increase knowledge of funding streams/grants
  • build basic knowledge of funding, grants, and income generation
  • build confidence in applying for grants
  • access expert fundraising advice and support
  • receive support in writing successful funding bids
  • develop long terms funding/income strategies
  • develop in-depths skills and knowledge in funding/income generation
  • secure commissions to deliver services

Who delivers this support?

We have a number of partners who offer support on fundraising and income generation, depending on the specific need of the area. Areas will be matched with one of these partners depending on what their local needs are.

Our lead partner, Stir to Action, is a national co-operative infrastructure body who focus on strategic economic development projects; bridging the gap between policy and practice; and ensuring the new economy is more diverse and representative.

Through their training and capacity-building programmes, they support the growth of democratic business in a range of sectors, including community regeneration.

DISCLAIMER: Whilst in-area support with our partners is open to all, if certain support offers are oversubscribed, we will need to prioritize this depending on which areas need it most. This doesn’t mean your area will not get to take part in the offer – just that you may have to wait until support has been offered to priority areas first.
