Goldthorpe with Bolton-on-Dearne

Goldthorpe and Bolton-on-Dearne are neighbouring villages in an area of east Barnsley known as the Dearne Valley. Goldthorpe is known for its mining heritage and has a population of around 6,000 people. Bolton-on-Dearne is slightly larger with a population of 7,000 people. The area has a relatively young population. Both villages have a similar mix of terraced and social housing.
