Climate-proof your plan

Communities are increasingly facing climate-related issues like fuel poverty, expensive-to-heat community assets, and a lack of access to green spaces. Because climate change is something that will affect all Big Local areas, we have launched a range of support designed to help partnerships climate-proof their plan.

What support is on offer?

As a Big Local partnership, you can access bespoke support from our climate partners to get help with things like:

• establish community-based approaches to support residents struggling with their fuel bills
• make your community space more energy-efficient, so it becomes cheaper to heat
• improve your community’s connection to nature by creating more green spaces
• explore the viability of renewable energy in your community
• help your community understand the threats of climate change and support them to respond with local climate-positive action

Who delivers this support?

The Centre for Sustainable Energy (CSE) are an energy charity who work on finding solutions to the threat of climate change and the misery of cold homes.

They have over 40 years of experience in this area and, as Big Local’s climate support partner, they will be able to help areas explore ideas and develop bespoke plans on a range of climate-related issues.
