Diversity, equality and inclusion training part 2: Power and belonging

Join other people working on Big Local for the second training event,  as part of the diversity, equality, and inclusion series

This second workshop will provide people with the understanding and practices to build spaces where everyone, regardless of background, feels they belong and are empowered to thrive. We’ll invite active discussion around how power dynamics play out and how you can shift those dynamics in your work.

In this session, you’ll

• Discover practical ways of unpacking daily issues of inclusion in our work and tools for deciding what needs to change.
• Practice using frameworks such as shared containers, deep listening, and 1-2-4-all to build spaces where all voices are truly heard – which in turn can be used in Big Local settings.
• Understand the importance of shifting power dynamics and how to do that in different contexts

A small number of people who attend these sessions will get the chance to have 1-1 and pair coaching sessions with Collaborative Future to explore in more detail your specific challenges with centering equity and belonging in your work on Big Local. People will be invited to participate once the first workshop has taken place.

The sessions for Big Local areas will run in parallel with sessions for reps on the same topics.
