Local Trust’s press and media team can provide information for journalists on issues relating to communities, neighbourhood renewal and doubly disadvantaged neighbourhoods. We also have policy experts and volunteers from Big Local areas available to talk about the work of Local Trust and the Big Local programme.

Local Trust is a national charity set up in 2012 to deliver the Big Local programme. We believe that trusting communities and giving them more power will enable local people to significantly improve their quality of life and the places in which they live.
Big Local is a programme funded by The National Lottery Community Fund (TNLCF). It is a unique programme that puts residents across England in control of decisions about their own lives and neighbourhoods.
In 2011, TNLCF awarded £1m to each of the 150 Big Local areas. The Big Local programme was designed to reach communities that had not historically received Lottery money or public funding.
Our policy experts are available for interview and comment on Local Trust’s work and the benefits of long-term, community-led funding.
Given the resident-led nature of the Big Local programme, each area has its own unique set of priorities and related projects. Spokespeople from these areas can speak on the importance of community leadership and how it relates to some of the most urgent issues of the moment, including those detailed below.
We have a broad range of photography and we work with Big Local areas to support radio, broadcast and multimedia press opportunities.
Please get in touch with your request, using the details above, to find out more.
