This session considers how we can build stronger communities by connecting generations. We will explore intergenerational practice and how approaches that deliberately and purposefully bring different ages together, can impact positively on social connections and reducing loneliness.

We will hear from guest speaker Stephen Burke from United for All Ages, a ‘think-do’ tank founded in 2010 to create a Britain for all ages.

By the end of this session, you will have:

  • A greater understanding of intergenerational approaches to reducing loneliness and the benefits of using it to build community connections

  • Learnt about some examples of intergenerational practice which you could try in your Big Local area

  • Had an opportunity to share what you are doing locally to bring different generations together
