Do you want some new engagement methods to help get more people and communities involved in your Big Local area?
This CPD accredited course will explore how to do really great community engagement – it will support Big Local areas to look at planning engagement as well as the role of those involved in Big Local in facilitating community engagement. You’ll come away from our training days with a tool kit full of ideas of how to engage and a chance to practice some of the tools during the day.
We will have time in small groups to discuss how different areas are doing community engagement as well as sessions in the bigger group to support learning. Attracting and involving new people in what’s going on in our Big Local areas is key and this course will help you think about how you are doing that and plan around it.
Join us for an interactive day to learn how good community engagement can support and strengthen your Big Local areas. We know there are lots of strengths and good examples of community engagement across Big Local so bring your great examples ready to share and we will have time to explore these as well as share new ideas.
What will the sessions cover?
- How do we plan engagement?
- What are the principles and values that underpin engagement?
- What is the role of a community facilitator?
- What are the range of engagement tools you can use? (with an opportunity to practice!)
- How do we evaluate engagement?
- What tools and knowledge will I bring away from it?
