This session will tell the story of the Humanity project and look at how it is has evolved.

It will explore it’s longer term aim, to recreate a strong local democracy, and practically the work it will be involved in to bring about this change.

The webinar will be hosted by Ruth Rogers, Operations Manager for the project, and will begin with 2 of the 3 conveners of the project Clare Farrell (Co-Founder of Extinction Rebellion) and Lee Jasper (Operation Black Vote) sharing the bigger vision of the project.

Lachlan Ayles (Project Officer) will then share learnings from the first phase of the project and Nick Gardham (Convener of the project alongside Lee and Clare) will explore the current work on the ground and the plan for this upcoming phase.

About the Community Practitioners’ Network

Local Trust have funded Big Local Workers and volunteers access to Community Organisers’ Community Practitioners’ Network. This is a network is made up of community practitioners from across the UK working in a range of careers in the community.

It offers you the chance to:

  • access expert guest lectures and webinars
  • take part in a range of topical conversations
  • expand your network of personal and professional contacts

All in a way that fits in with your individual working patterns and needs.

We encourage workers to sign up to this network, or volunteers from areas without a worker. It’s an opportunity to build networks with people outside of Big Local, making it particularly useful for partnerships coming to the end of the programme.

You will need to sign up before your area closes out from the Big Local programme. A worker or a volunteer from your area can then access membership to this network for 12 months.
