The inaugural community power lecture hosted by Local Trust, with incoming director of the Royal Society for the Arts (RSA), Andy Haldane.
In the wake of a devastating pandemic that has exposed pervasive inequalities in our society, the challenge facing us now is to level up the country through empowered, resilient, and asset-rich communities, making their own decisions on what is best for their area.
So to ensure a future with strong communities at its heart, this new lecture series will provide a platform each year for a leading thinker to examine and champion the case for investment in social infrastructure and community-led change.
We are delighted to invite the former chief economist at the Bank of England and incoming Director of the RSA, Andy Haldane, to deliver the inaugural address on the evening of Tuesday 6 July.
The event will begin promptly at 6:30pm and will be live-streamed.
Following Andy’s address, there will be a Q&A, with anyone watching able to pose questions via Twitter. Matt Leach, chief executive of Local Trust, will be chairing the event.
We very much hope you will be able to join us for this exciting speech to hear from one of the country’s top thinkers and advocates for powerful communities.
A link to the live-stream will be shared with attendees one hour before the start time.
