About this event

Visit and hear from an inspirational social entrepreneur who is tackling local issues and creating a lasting change. A chance to learn about social enterprise, its challenges and opportunities and to think about what it might mean for your Big Local area.

Disappointed at the lack of supportive, accessible amenities for families within the Sale area, Jeneane renovated and reopened an old, dilapidated scout hut building as a family centre, ‘4 Cheeky Monkeys’. Come and find out about her journey, and what’s happened since ‘4 Cheeky Monkeys’ opened.

The day will help participants understand the potential of social entrepreneurs to address issues identified in Big Local Plans.

You will have a chance to learn more about the potential of social entrepreneurs and social enterprises and to think about what this might mean for your area.

Who is this for?

It is for people in Big Local areas who want to:

  • Meet a successful social entrepreneur, their journey, what makes them tick.
  • Look under the bonnet – understand the business model, the finances and how they keep going.
  • Learn about the issue they are addressing, and how the venture tackles it.
  • Consider the potential of social enterprise in your area

Further information

Social entrepreneurs are working on high impact, sustainable ventures addressing tough issues that are faced in Big Local areas. We know you are trying to tackle similar issues, and we know you want to make those changes last.

Jeneane aims to provide a first class facility and services that reflect excellence in child care and benefit other local health and community needs for families and young people. Jeneane will share her story, her journey so far, tell you about her success - how she became grant free; and also about the journey she’s on and the very real challenges she’s faced.
