Workshop 1 – Making connections, developing trust and generating ideas.
For many Big Local areas, community sports and activity are powerful tools to help bring communities together and respond to what matters most to you. This learning cluster will help Big Local areas to think about and develop sport and activities in new ways.
The first workshop of the new community sports and activity learning cluster facilitated by Active Partnerships will be split in two parts on Zoom on Tuesday 19 January, 10.00-12.00 and Tuesday 26 January, 10.00-12.00. We hope you will be able to attend both parts of this first cluster session but we do have flexibility if you are only able to attend one. Please let us know when you register. Find out more information about the cluster here.
The session will cover:
- Get to know who is in the cluster
- Hear from a range of Big Local areas about how they have used community sport with good results, as well as when the best-laid plans haven’t quite gone to plan
- Practical ideas for responding to here and now opportunities and challenges around community sport; including how to safely engage participants in your activities within the restrictions of Covid-19
- Explore how community sport could support your Big Local legacy plans
Learning & Networking events are open to all those living and working in Big Local areas, but we do expect attendees to bring some knowledge of the Big Local programme with them and use their learning to support the delivery of projects in their area.
