Woodlands Speaks

Save area

Woodlands is a community of around 7,400 people some 3 miles to the north of Doncaster. It is a former mining village made up of 4 housing estates that straddle the Great North Road.

The community has seen many changes and faces some real challenges with high levels of worklessness and youth unemployment. The area does however have many things going for it; lots of green spaces, community facilities and a strong sense of community.

The Woodlands Speaks partnership has come together to build on these positives to increase community pride with activities such as the Love Woodlands campaign and to make the village an even better place to live.
