Big Local

Three Parishes - Gobowen, St Martins and Weston Rhyn

Situated close to the border with Wales in north Shropshire, the Three Parishes Big Local area is made up of the three villages of Weston Rhyn, Gobowen and St Martins and the rural area that lies between them. With a combined population of about 8,000 the three villages are linked by scenic countryside and smaller, rural settlements.

We have a community vision which stems from two years of discussion and research. Our shared vision is that 'in 10 years time, Three Parishes Big Local will have improved the lives of the people who live in and around the area. The Three Parishes will be even more safe and comfortable and will be good places to live, learn and grow.'

In Three Parishes Big Local, the programme is managed by a group of volunteers who reflect the communities, known as the partnership. The expectation is that membership of the partnership will evolve during the 10 year programme with additional or replacement members joining. A number of volunteer advisors support the members of the partnership. Advisors are people who may have specialist knowledge or who may be interested in a particular aspect of the Big Local programme.
