Big Local

Mablethorpe, Trusthorpe and Sutton on Sea (Coastal Communities Challenge)

Save area

Mablethorpe, Trusthorpe and Sutton on Sea Big Local  is a fantastic area, made up of three adjoining towns, situated along a small part of Lincolnshire’s East Coast, altogether with an approximate population of 13,000 growing to 30,000-plus in the holidaying seasons.

Like other coastal areas there are high levels of deprivation, but the area has equally high levels of community spirit and activity, with residents being particularly friendly, making all visitors very welcome.

Big Local is known locally as Coastal Communities Challenge - C.C.C. We are delighted to have become involved in this venture to invest this £1 million lottery grant. We will use it in order to enrich the lives of the residents of the area. We are keen to develop the good work that has already been going on in the three towns. We will regularly reach out to those that are not involved in this challenge.

We have already supported a number of organisations through our community quick wins, some small amounts to enable small projects to be carried out. We are also keen to help people to ‘think big’, particularly where we are able to invest and make our funds grow. This will support our desire to think beyond the initial ten years of the program towards a lasting and a sustainable set of assets for the area.
