Big Local

Langold, Costhorpe and Carlton

Save area

Our Big Local area is made up of three villages, Langold, Costhorpe and Carlton who are all working together to make a better community. Situated in North Nottinghamshire the villages were originally built to house those who came to work in the mines, although new housing estates have been built to accommodate the growing population of the area. Together the villages have a population of over 7000 people.

Together we share a 300-acre country park which is run by the local authority and have many other great community groups who are working hard to enhance the villages. There is a great sense of community throughout the villages, but lack of funding has limited the potential that this holds. Historically the villages were always quite separate, but through Big Local this is starting to change.
