Big Local

Riverside Community

Originally the Big Local area was called Grays Riverside but this name was confused with the councillors ward and lots of people thought it was something to do with the council. So we decided to change the name. After lots of suggestions the name Riverside Community was chosen, as one boundary is the river and it is all about a community. Next was a logo that could represent the area. The one that was eventually picked tries to show that lots of different communities make up the area.

Riverside Community is entirely manned by volunteers and we are always looking for new people to join us. Ideally we would like a representative from every street in the Big Local area. We want to find what is the best way to use our £1m from the Big Lottery Fund so that it makes a lasting positive difference to the community.
