Highlights from our spring events

June 2015

The Big Local spring events took place in six different locations between 14 - 28 April 2015. These events are exciting workshop-based events that inspire, and they are also a great way to meet other people involved in Big Local.

Thank you to everyone who attended and to all of our contributers. It was amazing to meet so many of you and have the opportunity to celebrate the many achievements and successes of Big Local so far.

Sange Walt, a volunteer from Big Local Wembley Central told us:

"It was so great just meeting other Big Locallers - the energy, some great wisdom and the exchange of thought. Thank you Big Local for putting the locals back in the driving seat."

Here we share some highlights from the events. We have some photos from the spring events on our Flickr. If you have some great snaps from the day and would like to share them, please tweet us or email them to biglocal@localtrust.org.uk and we will be happy to add them to our album.

Speaker presentations and stories

The workshops at our spring events were led by Big Local areas as well as by people with experience of delivering community-led activities.

Where people used presentations for their workshops and were happy to share them, you will find them on our website here.

We have also been writing up some of the stories of the people who presented. To read these, please visit our blogs. They include stories about; car sharing as a solution to tackle employment issues, working with the public sector to deliver services, encouraging better money management, and recruiting and training young people as community researchers.
