Partnership survey 2018

The second ever National Survey of Partnership Members is now open

May 2018

What is the partnership member survey 2018?

The National Survey of Partnership Members is held every two years and is the only time we ask partnership members across all 150 Big Local areas to tell us about their experiences of Big Local. The survey asks you about your experience of Big Local in your area and your ideas for how we can make Big Local even better.

Who should complete the survey?

Any current partnership members (voting and non-voting) and people who were partnership members in the last 12 months can complete the survey. If you aren’t sure what is a Big Local partnership you can read more about it here. If you are still not sure if you are a partnership member who can complete the survey, ask the partnership itself to clarify, ask your Big Local rep or the chair of your partnership.

Why is Local Trust surveying partnership members?

The survey provides vital feedback from the key group of people who are the leaders and drivers of the Big Local programme. It gives partnership members the opportunity to tell us their experiences of Big Local and influence the direction of the programme. We want to find out if the Big Local approach works, what is working, what we can do better, and to help us provide Big Local areas with better support and resources. Your responses also provide valuable information that helps us to promote the programme, and its benefits, at a national level.

How can I complete the survey?

You can complete the survey online, on paper or by telephone. Sign up here.

How long does it take to complete the survey?

The survey should take about 20 minutes to complete. However, you don’t need to do the entire survey in one sitting. All of the paper surveys include a freepost envelope so you can take a survey home with you to complete at your own pace. We just ask that you send it to Local Trust by 31 August.

The online survey also allows respondents to stop partway through and return where they have left off. To do this, respondents must complete a full page of the survey and hit the ‘next’ button. If the respondent stops halfway down a page, the results of that page will not be saved.

What did you find in the 2016 survey?

We shared the findings from the 2016 survey at our Big Local Spring Events and through a series of blogs that you can find below.

These findings have been used as evidence to demonstrate some of the benefits and challenges of Big Local. It has also been used to help Local Trust to identify ways that we can better support you and your Big Local area to deliver Big Local.

Will we find out the results of the survey?

We will be sharing the findings from this year’s survey at the end of the year so keep an eye out for them.

If you are a partnership member and would like to complete the survey, please e-mail Jeremy Yung with your name and Big Local area name at jeremy.yung@localtrust.org.uk or call on 0203 588 0565 - or sign up here.
