Supporting areas to measure change

We want to hear from you

November 2018

Measuring the change that Big Local is making in your area can be difficult but it is important to be able to show the difference you have made. You may be measuring change already or just starting out. Wherever you are in your journey, the research team at Local Trust is here to offer support.

While we already provide some resources to help you measure change, we are also in the process of developing more support for Big Local areas. We want to ensure this support is informed by you.

So, if you’re interested in receiving support in measuring change, get in touch with the research team now!

Why is measuring change important?

Being aware of the change you are making and capturing this can be powerful. It can:

  • help you when reviewing your plan
  • find out what's going well, what isn’t going as planned, how things can be improved
  • be used as evidence of the progress you are making in achieving your priorities, vision for your area and the Big Local outcomes
  • help to show people the difference you are making with Big Local funding
  • help you to attract potential partners, volunteers and resources to your Big Local, and
  • help you to plan your Big Local legacy.

How are we supporting areas to measure change?

Local Trust has a range of support and tools that are available now to help areas to measure change.

These range from providing access to open data specific to your Big Local area, to a step by step resource explaining how to carry out (or commission) research.

Take a look at some of the resources you can access now.
