Empowered communities in the 2020s: steering group
Call for expressions of interest
31 October 10am: Please note that the deadline for expressions of interest has now passed.
We recently announced outline plans for a major new research project that will capture the contemporary value of community development and scope its future. We are now calling for expressions of interest from those who are interested in joining the steering group for the project.
The project theme is ‘Empowered communities in the 2020s: shaping the future of community development’ and you can download the project plan here.
At Local Trust, we put learning and collaboration at the heart of our work to support communities, so we’re proud to be commissioning and managing this research project, which has the potential to shape the future of community development in the UK.
This exciting opportunity, funded by the Community Development Foundation (CDF) and the Joseph Rowntree Foundation (JRF), has already generated substantial interest and we look forward to involving a wide range of stakeholders with the work over the coming months.
The findings from the research will inform further work to improve working with communities including the allocation of the £500k gifted to Local Trust by CDF on its closure in March 2016.
To ensure that the project is guided by people with a broad range of relevant interests, skills and experience, we are inviting submission of expressions of interest to be on the steering group. More information about the role of the steering group can be found here.
Submit an expression of interest
If you are interested in joining the steering group, please complete the questionnaire below. The deadline is Monday 31 October 2016 at 10.00am.
After the deadline, a panel of Local Trust staff and trustees will decide on the composition of the group, based on the best fit of skills, experience and interest in the project and the widest reflection of demographics.
