Nominate your local government heroes
Local Trust sponsors new Community Collaborator award
Do you know a councillor who is empowering residents to lead positive change? Recognise their contribution by nominating them as a Community Collaborator in this year’s C’llr awards. The C’llr awards are prestigious national awards for councillors run by LGiU.
We're sponsoring the Community Collaborator category to celebrate councillors nationally who are supporting resident-led initiatives, including Big Local. We know that councillors who have a good understanding and respect for resident-led projects are vital collaborators in getting residents’ ideas into action.
One of our Big Local ambassadors will present the award at a ceremony at Livery Hall London on 1 November 2016.
Jonathan Carr-West, Chief Executive of LGiU, said: ‘In its sixth year, LGiU’s C'llr Awards are the opportunity to honour the extraordinary achievements of councillors across the country, work that often goes unrecognised.
We’re looking forward to receiving hundreds of nominations and showcasing the incredible stories of local government heroes.’
The Community Collaborator winner will be a pioneer of new methods of community support and engagement who has empowered residents to lead positive local change.
They will have:
- found innovative ways to support residents to put forward ideas and implement them
- developed new relationships and regular communication between the council, residents and community groups
- collaborated with residents and a community group(s) to deliver a project that benefits the community, for example through co-creation or co-funding.
