About this event
This course aims to develop your knowledge of responsibilities of citizenship and equal opportunities. You will explore themes around human rights and responsibilities, equality, and develop awareness of how local politics shapes the world in which you live, and your community.
This is a 6 day course delivered over two sets of three days (an afternoon, a full day and a morning in February and the same again in March).

Accreditation is available for this course. In order to gain a Certa Level 1 award, you need to attend the whole course and complete the assessment activities that are in the course workbook. There will be time during the sessions to complete the workbook with support from the tutor.

Our courses and events are free for people in Big Local areas. We provide lunch and can provide financial support for travel, childcare and other care costs to residents in Big Local areas. We can also book and pay for travel in advance.
If you are taking part as part of your paid work/employment then we ask that your employer cover your expenses. However, we can pay or contribute towards worker’s expenses in exceptional circumstances.
