Ben has two decades’ experience in social policy and community empowerment.
In 2011 he joined the original consortium that went on to establish Local Trust and has served as a Trustee since its inception. His first roles were as a civil servant developing policy on social housing, aviation, and sustainable development. Ben then moved to Camden Council where he helped the authority establish more collaborative models for working with local partners, and new ways of measuring the impact of local services.
Since 2004 he has been part of the senior team at the public policy consultancy Shared Intelligence building the company’s work around libraries, culture, peer-learning and action-research. In 2008 he set up the National Association for Neighbourhood Management to continue the work of the Neighbourhood Renewal Unit’s learning networks for neighbourhood-level practitioners in local public services.
