Research and learning co-ordinator

Sonia has a key role in developing suitable ways to monitor and evaluate the Big Local programme. She designs internal research and evaluation methods and draws out strategic learning. She is also the key liaison person for two of our main external research programmes: Our Bigger Story, a longitudinal multimedia project, and SPHR’s Communities in Control study involving Big Local areas.

Sonia has an academic background. She holds a PhD in Local Governance and Citizen Participation from the London School of Economics. Over the years she has been involved in several research projects on co-production of public services and citizen participation in policy-making.

Prior to this role, Sonia was a researcher at Involve, a think tank specialising in public participation.
